Founded
in the year of 1992, the IBVF - Instituto de Bateria Vera Figueiredo is, nowadays,
the most important center of studies of the drum set music in Brazil. Once
counting on its founder and Dean’s, the drummer Vera Figueiredo, knowledge
and wide spread experience, the IBVF offers to its students, the
possibility of a further development of their talents, as well as knowing
more about the work scenario musical and becoming a professional musician.
In a way of increasing the information availability to its students
towards the complementation of their studies, since 1993, the Instituto de
Bateria has being producing shows, workshops and master classes. As the
time went by, these events became the reference not only to the IBVF
students but to the whole music community who started attending to them.
In 1996, the Batuka! Project was born starting the annual production of
the Batuka! International Drum Fest, nowadays standing on the list of the
most important ones in the world. The workshop, master class and show
program, became an important part of this project accomplished by the IBVF
Produções.
Vera Figueiredo and Daniel Oliveira are the current
teachers of the Instituto de Bateria Vera Figueiredo which also had Billy
Cobham, Jimmy Brainly, Virgil Donati, Daniel Baeder, Robby Ameen, Gustavo
Meli and Jojo Mayer as its alumni. |
